What is Faulkner’s Ranch?

Faulkner’s Ranch is a year-round, family-owned event venue that hosts memorable public and private events.  The Faulkner family has been doing business in south KC for over 70 years. It continues today with the 3 partners of Bob, Matt and Christine Faulkner.  Read more about the history of Faulkner’s here

When are you open to the public?

We are open to the public 3 times a year for our seasonal events-Spring Round Up, Pumpkin Season and Jolly Country Christmas Pop Up Bar.

What type of private events do you host?

We are a year-round event venue that specializes in Weddings, Team-Building, Company Picnics, Pumpkin Season Parties and Holiday Parties. Check out the pages or contact our Event Coordinator at carina@faulknersranch.com.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept cash and all major credit cards.

Do you host birthday parties or pony parties?

No, we no longer host birthday or pony parties.  However, you can come ride our ponies at our public events: Spring Round Up or Pumpkin Season.

Do you allow outside food or drink into the Ranch?

No, we do not allow outside food or beverages.

Are there diaper changing stations available?

Yes, we have diaper changing stations in all of our indoor restrooms.

Can I bring my pet?

No, sorry, we do not allow any pets on the property.  However, service animals are permitted.  Our policy, as guided by the ADA, defines a service animal as one that has been individually trained to do work or perform tasks for the benefit of an individual with a disability.  Please check in with an event staff employee upon arrival.

What is your professional photography policy?

During our Spring Round Up and Pumpkin Season, a photographer and their clients are welcome to come to the ranch and take pictures during hours we are open to the public.  However, tickets are required. Please be advised, we are not a U-Pick pumpkin patch.

How can I request a donation?

Because we receive a large volume of donation requests, they must meet the following criteria:

*Requests must be submitted 90 days prior to the event

*Organization must be a 501(c)3

*A single donation will be made per organization, per 12 month period

Pumpkin Season

What dates are you open for the 2023 pumpkin season?

We will be open Friday, September 29-Sunday, October 29 for our 25th pumpkin season! We are CLOSED on Mondays.

What are the pumpkin season hours?

Pumpkin Fest hours are Tuesday-Thursday (3pm-7pm) & Friday-Sunday (10am-6pm).

Gift Shop hours are Tuesday-Thursday (10am-7pm) & Friday-Sunday (10am-6pm) for purchase of pumpkins, donuts and fall décor. Pumpkin Fest admission is not required to purchase pumpkins.  All pumpkins are pre-picked and on display.

Do you have to purchase Pumpkin Fest admission to purchase pumpkins?

Sure don’t! All of our pumpkins are pre-picked and for sale in front of the Gift Shop.

How much is Pumpkin Fest admission?

Tuesday-Friday, admission is $15/person online & $20/person at the door (plus tax)

Saturday-Sunday, admission is $20/person online & $25/person at the door (plus tax)

Do you offer discounts?

We offer everyone a discount through our online tickets!  There will occasionally be flash ticket sales before our pumpkin season starts. Make sure to be signed up for our email list and follow our social media accounts to be in the know!

Active duty and veterans receive $1 off their ticket, ID required.

Do I have to pay for my 2-year-old?

No, ages 2 & under are free. Everyone else needs an Pumpkin Fest admission ticket.

What does Pumpkin Fest admission include?

30+ interactive activities including our NEW MEGA SLIDE, wagon ride, petting farm, inflatables, corn crib, field maze, pedal karts and plenty of photo ops! You will also have access to purchase delicious complete meals prepared fresh on-site at Faulkner’s Fixins. View Our Menu

Are all activities included in Pumpkin Fest admission?

No, the following optional activities require Funny Money Token : pony rides (ages 3-11), zipline (ages 5-13), corn cannon and mechanical bull (minimum 48”). The dates/times these are open vary. Please check our pumpkin season attraction page for more information. Funny Money tokens can be purchased online or on site.

Do you have wagon rides?

Yes, we have a wagon ride suitable for all ages included in the Pumpkin Fest admission. You will enjoy a 15-minute wagon ride with music on board & straw-bale art to enjoy during the ride!

What animals do you have in your petting farm?

You will have the opportunity to meet many of the friendly Faulkner’s animals including goats, sheep, bunnies, llamas and 3 specialty cattle included in the Pumpkin Fest admission. Additionally, you can purchase animal feed onsite and online.

Do you have a corn maze?

No, but we have a 1-acre field maze of sorghum grass that everyone can enjoy!

Do you allow outside food or drink into the Ranch?

No, we do not allow outside food or drink in the Ranch. However, we have freshly prepared meals, festival foods and snacks available for purchase in our concession stands.  Our most popular menu items include pumpkin spice donuts, apple cider slushies, fresh-squeezed lemonade, and BBQ pulled pork.  View Our Menu

Do you have to pay Pumpkin Fest admission to purchase pumpkin spice donuts?

No, you can come to the gift shop and purchase there! They are available in half-dozen and dozen packages.

Can I change my ticket date/time?

Yes, if it’s greater than 24 hours until your date/time, you can go to the bottom of your confirmation email, and you will have to create an account. Once you have created your account, you may change the date.  This is always subject to date/time availability.

However, tickets CANNOT BE CHANGED if it’s less than 24 hours until your date/time.

Are there refunds?

No, all sales are final and non-refundable.

What is your weather policy?

Extreme, unforeseen weather can force us to close at any time. If we are closed due to the weather, an announcement will be made on social media and you will receive an email with the options available to you. You may also call ahead to see if we will be open.

Do I have to come at the exact time of my ticket entrance time?

No, there is a 30-minute window before and after your ticket entrance time.

Can party members arrive at different times?

Yes, just make sure each person has their own QR code to gain entrance into Pumpkin Fest. Please note that each QR code will only scan once, either printed or on your phone.

Can I leave and come back later in the day?

No, admission to the pumpkin fest is intended to one single visit.

Does it cost to park?

No, parking is always free!

Are you handicap accessible?

Yes, Faulkner’s Ranch is handicapped accessible excluding the wagon ride.

Can I bring my own stroller or wagon?

Yes, strollers and wagons are welcome because we do not have scooters/carts, wagons or strollers for use.

Can I smoke or use tobacco products while on the property?

No, for safety and health purposes, along with being courteous to all guests, there is no smoking or vaping allowed anywhere on Ranch property.

What if I have additional questions?

How long can I stay?

You may stay for as long as you would like after the time of your ticket, normal experiences last 2 hours.

If I buy my Pumpkin Fest ticket online, do I have to print it out?

Online Pumpkin Fest tickets will be emailed to you, you can either bring a printed copy or have us scan your phone. Please note that each QR code will only scan once, either printed or on your phone.

Why are there timed tickets?

We have timed tickets to manage the capacity of the Ranch to make your experience as comfortable as possible.

Jolly, Country Christmas Pop Up Bar

What dates will Jolly be open?

Friday, November 24th – Saturday, December 23rd

Thursday reservations begin at 6pm

Friday-Sunday reservations begin at 4pm

*additionally open Tuesday, Dec. 19 & Wednesday, Dec. 20

What does Jolly cost?

$15 per person for a 2 hour reservation experience.

The $15 reservation fee does not include food or beverages.

What does the $15 reservation fee get you?

2 hours at a table inside our festive Jolly barn, complete with plenty of picture taking opportunities!  After your 2 hour reservation inside Jolly you’ll exit into the indoor Barnyard filled with Faulkner’s party animals where you can have another round with the llamas, goats and specialty cattle.

What merchandise do you have available for sale?

What are the cocktail and appetizer options?

Are reservations required?

Yes, reservations are required. Reserve your seat. Please ensure that one single reservation is made for your entire table.

What if I have a group?

If you group size is larger than 20 people, please contact our Event Coordinator at carina@faulknersranch.com

Is this an over 21 event?

Yes, this is only for ages 21 & older. ID will be shown at the Jolly entrance.

What to do if we are late?

We have a 5 minute grace period.  Please message Faulkner’s through the OpenTable app if you are running later than 5 minutes after your reservation time. 

What to do if we want to add more people to our reservation?

Please call Faulkner’s at 816-761-5055.

Are there refunds?

Experiences are non-refundable and cannot be modified or exchanged.

Private Events

How many people can you accommodate?

Faulkner’s Ranch can accommodate groups of 25-1,200 for an indoor/outdoor event.

Can we bring our own food and alcohol or hire our own DJ?

No, we don’t allow outside food, beverages or entertainment.

Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?

Yes! Your event coordinator can assist you to determine what menu items meet their requirements.

Am I responsible for set up and clean up of the event?

No, Faulkner’s handles all of the details for you and provides all the staff for your complete event.

Is Faulkner’s handicap accessible?

Yes!

Can I bring a stroller/wagon?

Yes!

Can I visit the Ranch for a site visit?

Of course! An Event Coordinator will be happy to give you a tour Tuesday through Friday during regular business hours. Please call 816-761-5055 or email carina@faulknersranch.com to set up your tour.

Field Trips

Do you host school field trips?

Yes, we’ve been hosting scarecrow-guided school field trips in October for 25 years! For more information, contact our Field Trip Coordinator at fieldtrips@faulknersranch.com.

What if it rains on our field trip day?

In the event of light rain and scattered showers, there are lots of dry places to play and learn at the Ranch. If the weather is severe we will try first to reschedule your visit.

My school is tax exempt. What do I need to do?

You must present a current copy of your tax exempt letter at the time of payment or you will be charged the local and state sales tax.

Does our group qualify for a Fall Field Trip?

Our Fall Field Trip is designed for students ages 3-12 years old. Common types of field trip groups include elementary schools and preschools. There is a $200 minimum required to schedule a Fall Field Trip. That is a minimum group size of 22 paid participants required to schedule.

How should we dress?

Outdoor play clothes and closed toed shoes are advised. Layers are lovely! Our goal is to keep your guests clean, dry, and comfortable during their visit to the Ranch.
