This summer, we were once again honored to host Kansas City’s debutantes for one of their Jewel Ball parties!
Leading up to the big Jewel Ball, the families of the debutantes host a series of parties.  We’ve hosted them many times before at Benjamin Ranch, but this was their first time here at Faulkner’s.  Needless to say, we were so excited to welcome them and show them a wonderful evening!
This evening was so magical!
They arrived via buses which is always a great way to get the party started.  Upon arrival everyone was served fresh squeezed lemonade and popcorn to enjoy while they played the ranch recreation.
Then it was time to hop on the mechanical bull!
For dinner they enjoyed chicken, beef, and vegetable kabobs with roasted red potatoes, salad, corn, watermelon, and warm dinner rolls with butter.  For dessert, there was warm fruit cobbler with vanilla ice cream.  Yum!
See this beautiful decor?  All of the fresh flowers you see were grown on one of the host family’s farms.  They looked absolutely amazing! And those cute little mason jar cups you see above?  Those were the adorable party favors!
After dinner the talented Dana and Donna Schirmer taught the group how to square dance.  They had a blast!  This is a great activity for any event because it helps everyone loosen up on the dance floor – even those “non-dancers”.  Dana and Donna are great at teaching it too! They start out easy with the popular dances to fill the dance floor, then gradually they move everyone into squares to teach them the basics of square dancing.  After 45 minutes, they are do-so-do’ing and promenading like pros!  Of course, square dancing holds a special place in our heart since it was the very start of how Faulkner’s Ranch came to be
The evening ended with a full dance floor and the Garry Lincoln Band jamming the night away!
There’s nothing quite like dancing to country music in front of the bandstand under the twinkle lights and starlight!
Thanks once again to KC’s Debutantes for choosing Faulkner’s Ranch!  Y’all are just wonderful!

Have a great day, y’all!

A couple of weeks ago the awesome folks of McDonald’s joined us at Faulkner’s Ranch for their Wet and Wild Company Picnic!
The Wet and Wild Package is one of our four exclusive company picnic packages.  McDonald’s went all out with the activities and we were lovin’ it! (get it?!).
Seriously y’all, this picnic was SO MUCH FUN!
I mean, can we just talk about this awesomeness?!
This is the Surf the Wave Slip’n’Slide Inflatable.  Needless to say, it was such a huge hit with everyone!
But wait, there’s more! Check out this super-fun game.  It’s called Downpour Derby!
Downpour Derby is a one-of-a-kind water game where people of any age pump water as fast as they can to fill the bucket over their opponent’s head! The faster you pump, the sooner you tip the “downpour bucket” on the other person. A “tie” is lots of fun too! This game provides fantastic soaking fun for hot weather parties and special events – it’s a must have for any Wet and Wild Picnic.
McDonald’s also continued the Wet and Wild theme with a good ole fashioned game of leaky bucket and our dunk tank.
In addition to our Wet and Wild activities, their employees also enjoyed our other ranch activities such as the corn cannon, zip-line, cow milking, petting farm, and more!
McDonald’s also celebrated their employees by giving away some awards and recognitions.  Some of these folks have worked at McDonald’s for 41 years – pretty amazing!  There were lots of promotions to celebrate too and what a better place to do that then the company picnic!
Thanks once again to McDonald’s for choosing Faulkner’s Ranch!  We had a blast with you guys!

One of our favorite things on Pony Party Saturday’s is seeing the awesome cakes that the mamas and papas bring to the table.  Seriously, some of these look like they are from Cake Boss!
Just see for yourself…

We told ya they were amazing!
We are also loving the adorable and delicious trend of cupcakes and cake pops. Cake pops, along with cupcakes, are a great choice for a birthday party because they are easy to clean up.

Now we wanna know, if you could have any kind of cake at YOUR pony party, what flavor would you choose?

We sure have been having our fair share of ADORABLE Pony Parties this year!
One of our favorite things to see is the creative party favors that our party mamas and papas come up with.  Giving your guests a party favor to take home is a great way to say thank you for presence!  It doesn’t have to be anything complicated.  Something as simple as candy or cookies, western toys, or a bandana are great ideas!
Here are just some of the cute ways that they have packaged them:

Isn’t it amazing how a brown-paper bag can be made to look this cute?  You can find stickers like this on Etsy!
We love the use of a bandana in place of tissue paper!  Plus, the Washi tape to attach the sign adds that extra special touch!

If there is one thing that we all love here at the ranch it is some Taylor Swift.  We can’t help it – we are all die hard T-Swizzle fans.  We just love her!
So, of course when we found out that a very special birthday girl had only two requests for her big day, Faulkner’s Ranch and Taylor Swift, we were honored!  To be in the same ranks as our gal T – such a huge compliment!
Her mama did such a great job with the details.  Just look at this beautiful table setup…

And look – there’s Taylor!
There were other special details too like this homemade banner…
Such love!
Plus, we just loved the way that she displayed her lollipops.
So clever and fun!
Thanks again for picking us for your special day!  We hope that it was “enchanted”!
We’re curious – what is your favorite Taylor Swift song?  This is our current fave:

Have a great day, ya’ll!

Have you heard about one of the coolest new amenities we have for our company picnics?
It’s the Kona Ice Experience!
What is the Kona Experience?  One word: awesome.
Okay, okay, we’ll expand!
Kona Ice is a one-of-a-kind experience that serves a premium tropical shaved ice.  Basically, it is a fancy and super delicious snow cone.  This is not your typical snow cone, folks!  The flavors that they have are bold and so scrumptious!
You just get your base snow cone and then head on over to the flavoring station where you can go with one flavor or get experimental and mix a few of your faves.  (Our favorite is Wild Wild Watermelon – yum!)
Oh, and did we mention that they are dairy-free, gluten-free, and even offer flavors that are sugar-free and dye-free?  A perfect, people-pleasing option to consider for your event.
They sure helped us “kool” down during this hot summer and made our company picnics even more fun!
Now we wanna know: what flavor(s) would you choose?
Have a great day ya’ll!
PS – Did you know that Kona Ice even has an app that you can download where you can guide their mascot penguin”Kona” on his way around Gooba Jooba Island?  I know!  Too much fun!

Things have been getting pretty hardcore at our company picnics lately.
That’s right, we’ve been tattin’ it up and gettin’ inked!

Don’t worry if you’re afraid of needles though!  You won’t find any at our tattoo stations.
That’s because these are all done with an airbrush by our skilled tattoo artists.
These airbrush tattoos are the not only painless, but they’re also non-permanent.  The perfect kind if you ask us!
This amenity has been very popular with all ages.  Talk about a great activity to provide at your company picnic or birthday party!
Now we wanna know:
If you could get any tattoo, what would you get?

Remember Kate’s birthday party with the awesome cake?
Well, they also had some super cute party favors!
And guess what they’re made out of!
That’s right – Pool Noodles!
They’re just too neat!  That’s why we thought we’d share with you a little tutorial on how to make some Pool Noodle Horses of your own!
To make these you will need:
1 Pool Noodle
A Set of Googly Eyes
Rubber Band
Fabric (felt is recommended)
Yarn or String
Glue Gun
Instructions:
1.  Fold the top portion of the pool noodle over to create the head of your horse and secure it with the rubber band.
2.  Cut your yarn/string about an arms length and wrap it around the elastic a few times.  Tie it and leave the ends hanging (those are the reins!).
3.  Cut the felt fabric into triangles for your horse’s mane.  Using the glue gun, attach it to the horses head and allow it to cool.
4.  Now it’s time to add the googly eyes! Put a dab of glue on each eye and allow it to cool a moment before you press them onto the sides of the face.
5.  Double check that everything is secure (esp. if you have little little ones playing with these) and enjoy!

This pony party was so creative that it looked like it was something you’d see on Pinterest!  That’s why today we’re taking a lesson from this party mama for 5  fun ways that you can add that Pinterest-touch to your birthday party!
Enjoy!
1.  Help Your Guests Dude Up
Have some hats and bandanas available to your guests when they arrive to help get them into the spirit of the wild west!  These also serve as a great party favor to take home!
2.  Give Ordinary Things a Fun Name
Why just have a drink station when you can have a Waterin’ Hole?
Rice Krispie treats can be haystacks and granola can be chicken feed!  The ideas are endless!
3.  Bring On the Banners
This party mama made good use of her Cricut.  The birthday banner she made added such a sweet, personal touch!
4.  Add Small Touches!
Here’s some more Cricut action!  We loved the sheriff’s badges and the horseshoes added to the cookies!  It made something that could have looked plain look really, really cute!

5.  Spiffy Up Your Cake
This cake was a Walmart cake that they embellished.  Isn’t it awesome?  A bandana, a mini-banner, and some cake decorations on toothpicks made it one-of-a-kind!
What was your favorite Pinteresty-touch from this party???

Now, we’ve had our fair share of amazing pony party cakes here at the ranch, but we’ve never seen one quite like this one!
It literally takes the cake!
Isn’t it amazing?
What make it even more awesome is that the birthday girl’s mother made it herself!
She owns a specialty cupcake company called Kate’s Cakes.  Check it out!
